Covering Your Bases After a Motorcycle Accident
Blog

Motorcycle accidents are scary, especially if you were the one riding the bike. To ensure the most optimal outcome from this event, make sure all your bases are covered by following these tips immediately after the incident.

Make Sure Everyone Is OK

You may not be injured, but you want to check on the other party. Contact an ambulance right away if someone was hurt. You will also need to contact the police to get a report filed, which you should do regardless of whether someone was injured.

Get Information

You should be carrying insurance whenever you drive. Provide it to the other party, and they should do the same. It is also a good idea to exchange phone numbers, and make sure you get the other vehicle’s plate number.

Take Note of the Area

If no one was seriously hurt, then you should take assessments of the area around you. Take pictures of street signs. In the event there were any passersby, you should talk with them to see if they would be willing to provide testimony at a later date.

For minor accidents with barely any property damage, there is a low likelihood of the event going to court. However, there is always that possibility, and if you require legal assistance, call Carlson Blau and Clemens SC at 414-342-1000.
